Our Understanding About Human Rights:
Human rights are both inspirational and practical. Human rights principles hold up the vision of a free, just, and peaceful world and set minimum standards for how individuals and institutions everywhere should treat people. Human rights also empower people with a framework for action.
- Women, children, religious and ethnic minorities are among the groups that are most vulnerable to human rights abuses.
- Poor people’s inability to access the justice system is blatantly obvious. Keeping this in mind, the organizations missions in rural Bangladesh also play a role in awareness rising among the vulnerable groups.
- Women and children suffer severely from the effects of the violation of rights, due to factors such as their status in society and misinterpretation of religion.
- PHRAS always emphasizes the active participation of the grassroots community. PHRAS realizes that empowerment is the precondition to establish human rights, which is based on a recognition and faith in peoples own power and resources.
